If anyone has any questions they would like to ask me, about myself, or about the universe in general, I would be glad to give you my honest and humble opinion and perspective. I encourage others to try this as well, as it can be very revealing and surprisingly rewarding… if used with the proper mindset/intentions. The link is located below

Why does it seem like nature speaks to us through psytrance? Is the universe trying to tell us something?

Yes. The key is to pay attention to what is going on around and inside you! 🙂 To be completely present in this moment, when all data can be collected and interpreted in a single instant.

Producing this music is meditative in itself, listening to the loops, over and over and over becomes droning, you get lost in yourself and in the program. The brain starts harmonizing with the Alpha frequency which is similar to the brainstate of deep meditation or samadhi. Here, the entire UNIVERSE is at our disposal, it is inside of us. Psytrance producers hone into this frequency, and begin to tweak and warp the already playing loops so that they line up and resonate with what is happening internally (EVERYTHING! THE VOID, THE AKASHIC, THE ONENESS, GOD–whatever you want to call it). Psytrance is a tool for calibration, aligning your chakras with the energy of the universe and bringing you that much closer to your divine self. It is psychoshamanism, the shaman (DJ/producer) takes you on a journey to higher dimensions. The universe is knocking on our doorstep, trying to wake us up. All it takes is to hear the call and answer… open the door, and God is sitting right on your doorstep! Who would have thought 😉

Psytrance is MUCH more than a party.

For those of you who don’t know me, let me just start off by saying I am an electronic music producer! Today I collaborate on a Goa-Trance project called ‘Aerosis‘ with a friend of mine from California, Bobby Ognyanov. I have also recently started a solo project called ‘Jagno Gaia‘ which I am currently developing songs for. Several years ago I would have never imagined this would be where I am today… but what do you know! I believe nature has a plan for me, and for you, and that is why we are all doing what we are doing. 🙂

The path I am on right now started about 6 or 7 years ago when I first discovered electronic music (mainly trance) and became curious with how it was produced. Since then I have been digging into this knowledge, writing music and learning audio production techniques through my own practices and more recently through school. Last year (2009) I transferred from the University of Minnesota – Duluth (after 2 years) to the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis. This decision was based on my growing disparity with the university school system and how I felt I wasn’t headed in the right direction. I went to the university to get a degree in order to be able to get a job that pays well so that I could make my riches and live life the way I want to. Lately, however, I’ve begun to see that living life the way I want does not involve riches at all… instead it is focused on art/spirituality/community/collaboration/expression/love etc. So I am following my passion–to create music that enlightens people and lifts them up away from the struggles and suffering of daily life. In order to incite that kind of reaction, I figure that I must utilize the depth of the knowledge of digital music production, and thus I am here at IPR.

The only problem with this, is lately… and since I’ve started attending IPR, I’ve been very, very, VERY, busy with school. I’m at the school at least half the day for class alone, then afterwards I have to spend another couple hours doing homework related to class in the labs at school… so I’m really only at home or away when I need to eat or go to sleep… and occasionally on the weekends. What this means for me… is that my ACTUAL music production… that is my job basically, is on hold until I get a break from school or until I finish my education. This sucks for a couple reasons.

1– I don’t have time for a job… so I am entirely reliant on my parents for money/support right now

2– When I get asked to play gigs, I either don’t have any time to create new material and thus have to play old material that is unfinished and has already been heard… or I don’t have enough time to make my sets magnificent and are thus somewhat lackluster/mediocre.

3– My social life has come to nearly a standstill… I get to see/hang out with my girlfriend Al everyday (which makes me very happy) but that’s about it… I don’t even get to see my parents really besides stopping by for 10 minutes to say “Hi” and grab something

4– I haven’t been getting enough sleep. I’m kind of an insomniac… so I don’t go to sleep until late usually, but then I have to get up at 8:30. Also I’m usually up past midnight anyways doing homework (usually at school). This can’t be good for my health.

This makes me wonder if maybe a change in schooling systems is in order???? Or is it just that I’m not hard working enough to get everything done with diligence? I like to think that I’m a diligent worker…

So aside from all of the tedious school-work and falling behind and getting stressed out… I have been playing a few gigs here and there, but like I said… I haven’t been able to improve them really because I’m busy doing schoolwork day after day. I just can’t wait to be done with this so that I can start living my real life… like I should be right now.
